Features of 40Gb / s electrooptical modulator design

The work is dedicated to estimation of the influence 40 Gbit/s electro-optic modulator design on its output characteristics. Theoretical calculations are presented of the linear expansion modulus are given using finite element method for investigated materials, such as kovar, stainless steel (SS304L) and lithium niobate (LiNbO3). Conducted verification nature tests demonstrating the performance of the samples.

Digital measuring converter for quality control of oil well products

The article develops the original idea of measuring water and salt content, described by the authors in previously published works. It is based on the registration and subsequent analysis of the transient process occurring in the measuring RC-cell after exposure to a rectangular pulse of stable amplitude. This allows one transmitter two methods – electric (moisture measurements) and the conductivity (measurement of salinity). As a result of careful research, the advantages of implementing such a device based on digital circuitry are justified. The application of the proposed device will allow to rationally adjust the technological processes of oil preparation due to the operational control of the water and mineral salts content.

Expression for the capacity cone transformation of grain and grain products moisture meter

The sensor construction which can allow to measure of grain and grain products moisture more accurately has been proposed. The analytical expression for the proposed ourselves censor construction capacity having truncated cone shape has been given. The dependences of construction capacity on the geometrical sizes of conducting compartment (height, internal and external radiuses) have been investigated and also numerical values of capacity by optimal values of conducting compartment sizes of construction have been presented. It has been defined that the greatest possible value for capacity equals to 9,26 pF and has an nonlinear character decreasing monotonic up to zero value.

Modelling and harmonic analysis of a vibrating induction transducer signal due to its movement over a magnetized area with a surface crack

Authors propose a mathematical model of the output signal of vibrating induction transducer (VIT) designed for magnetic flaw detection as a periodic function of time, which amplitude spectrum varies depending on the position of the VIT relative to the center crack of the test object locally magnetized by a permanent magnetic field. A variant of the orientation of the sensitivity axis of an inductive VIT coil and its vibration displacement in a direction parallel to the surface of the defective area along the force lines of the magnetizing field is considered. The signs of defect detection by VIT are formulated. The dependences of the amplitude spectrum of the VIT output signal on the parameters of the distribution of the magnetic field strength over the defect, the position of the VIT relative to the defect, the amplitude and frequency of the vibration displacement of the inductive coil are established. The authors give the results of experimental studies that confirm the reliability of the proposed model and show the calculated and experimental estimates of the signal-to-noise ratio, the accuracy of determining the location of the defect and the threshold and relative sensitivity of the VIT.

Analysis of existing TPU test methods and methods to improve TPU accuracy

Existing methods for calibration of pipe piston calibration facilities are reviewed, experimental studies of the metrological characteristics of the «Smith-100» TPU are carried out, reasons for the discrepancy between the results of determining the capacity of the TPU using different methods of verification are considered, ways of improving accuracy are proposed, recommendations for improving accuracy are given.

Applying standards of electric resistance

A reference database of the most popular products of electronics and electrical engineering – resistor (resistances) is presented.

The design features of measures of electrical resistance are considered and the metrological characteristics of domestic and foreign reference resistors are given. Methods for calibration of working resistors, calculated ratios in determining measurement errors and structural diagrams of calibration devices are presented.

Evaluation of the geometric accuracy of precision parts of complex shape

The article presents an approach to assessing the geometric accuracy of precision parts of complex shape, based on measurements, the purpose of which is to consistently refine the mathematical model of the measurement object, taking into account theoretical studies, processing and interpretation of the results. Improving the reliability of control is achieved by reducing the a priori measurement uncertainty associated with the inaccuracy of determining the measured value. It is shown that the evaluation of the geometric accuracy of a product of complex shape is reduced to solving the identification problem using the methods of the theory of statistical approximation and measurement reduction, as well as a data bank of models of measurement objects. The correctness of the adopted model is proposed to be assessed using the definition of the model reliability. The proposed algorithm for planning and carrying out measurements, as well as the interpretation of measurement results, is proposed to be included in the application software of measuring coordinate machines.

Metrological view on the defense enterprise interaction with the customer

Some important problems of an interaction between a defense enterprise and a customer are considered. The problems are of system character, and are arising in the field of metrological assurance standardisation. The problems solution leads, at the end, to the output quality ensuring.
