Installation for tungsten-rhenium thermocouples calibration in the temperature range 1200-2500 °C

The results of the development and practical use in production of a special installation are presented. It is intended for tungsten-rhenium thermocouples calibration at the temperatures exceeding the upper limit of operating range (1700 °C) of a type B thermocouple. The available electrical insulating materials for thermoelements had been tested. The effects of signal shunting and thermocouples stability in inert atmosphere at the upper limits of operating temperature range were investigated. The practical feasibility of the calibration method for several (up to 10) contact temperature sensors by comparing with the radiation pyrometer readings and its suitability for metrological certification of thermocouples and thermocouple wires in the temperature range (1200-2200) °C had been proved. A single tungsten- rhenium thermocouple without insulating elements was calibrated up to the upper measurement limit of 2500 °C, also calibrated in the reference fixed point of the Ru-C alloy (1954 °C).

Coulometric solid electrolytic oxygen analyzer and plants for preparing gas mixtures

When developing a coulometric gas analyzer and installations, gas assemblies of our own production, coulometric electrolytic cells, potentiometric and coulometric solid electrolyte cells are used, and in the reference oxygen gas analyzer, the gas flow rate is provided by a plunger dispenser.

Method for transmission and separation of phase information in a strongly fluctuating medium

The issue of noise-immune transmission of phase information for range and depth measurements in a highly fluctuating medium – the hydrosphere – is considered. It is known that for noise-resistant transmission of the phase of an acoustic signal in such a medium and to resolve the phase reference uncertainty due to strong fluctuations, it is necessary to lower the frequency of the signal emission. However, this significantly increases the geometric dimensions of the emitter, since they must be commensurate with the wavelength. In this paper, we propose a method for transmitting phase information at two relatively high acoustic frequencies slightly differing from each other in their value. In this case, the frequencies are emitted in the form of impulse correlated messages alternating in time. Accordingly, in this case, phase measurements are equivalent to measurements carried out at a difference frequency that is significantly lower than the signals emitted into the environment. Processing and separation of phase information is provided by a two-channel phase meter.

Development of an installation for studying the influence of an electric field, temperature and illumination on the parameters of a semiconductor material under conditions of local pressure

A universal device has been developed that allows applying pressure in the local region of the sample to study its electrical, photovoltaic, and galvanomagnetic properties and current instabilities in silicon containing nanoclusters of impurity atoms under the influence of pressure in a wide range of temperature, illumination, and electric field.

Multi-channel instrument amplifier for biopotentials measuring

The article describes a solution for multichannel measurement of human biopotentials with a differential signal gain higher than in the well-known circuits. In addition, the developed circuit has an increased signal-to-noise ratio. The proposed principle of constructing the circuit makes it possible to build measuring complexes with any channels. The parameters of the instrumentation amplifier are given.

The influence of the rake angle and the angle of inclination of the cutting edges on the errors of the angular pitch between the teeth of the tap

In the article in an analytical form, the dependences of the error of the angular step between the cutting teeth of the tap on the design and geometrical parameters of the cutting part of the tool, – the rake angle and the angle of inclination of the cutting edge, are obtained. It has been established that the error in the angular pitch between the teeth of the tap is due to the angular displacement of the blade due to its own error in the angular pitch, the error associated with the presence of the rake angle and the angle of inclination of the cutting edges, leads to a significant redistribution of the allowance volumes falling on the cutting teeth of the tool. It is shown that the possibility of approximate equality of the allowance distribution is provided with a purposeful change in the angular step between the cutting teeth of the taps.

Metrological support of measurements of oil and petroleum products for summing up the material balance at oil refineries

An algorithm for calculating the material balance of oil and petroleum products at oil refineries is given. A scheme of material flows of a balance sheet object with incoming and outgoing material flows, including losses (emergency, technological, natural), has been compiled. Formulas are given for accounting for material flows when reducing the material balance and the margin of error of the balance.

Principles of construction of digital twins of measuring instruments

The issues of construction of the system of digital twins of inbuilt measuring instruments reflecting their design (reference) metrological characteristics and the digital models of deviations of metrological characteristics of measuring instruments in operation (the current digital models of measuring instruments) are examined. The algorithms of correction of metrological characteristics of measuring instruments on the basis of digital twins, ensuring the prevention of metrological malfunctioning and prolongation of the service life of measuring instruments are examined.

Analysis of vibrations in a rail-car system

The vibrations arising in the rail-car oscillatory system are considered. These vibrations can be caused by the passage of characteristic distances associated with railway track structural features and railway track composition, as well as the passage of railway surface defects. The mutual influence of the system elements is estimated.
