Optimistic about the future: Department Optical and Biotechnical Systems and Technologies Institute of Physics and Technology RTU MIREA 40 Years!

The article presents information on the history of creation, development and achievements of the Department of Optical and biotechnical systems and technologies of the Institute of Physics and technology of MIREA-Russian technological University. The basic milestones of formation and development of highly professional school of training of specialists in the field of production technologies of modern optical equipment are stated. The directions of training of students and postgraduates of the Department, close cooperation of Department staff with leading academic institutions and enterprises providing practical training and employment of young professionals with technological knowledge of fiber optic systems, precision laser technology, optical instrumentation and measurements, bioengineering systems and technologies, etc. The directions and achievements of the scientific school of doctor of technical Sciences Professor V.S. Kondratenko, head of the Department at the present time, examples of international technology transfer, the role and contribution of the teaching staff and graduates of the Department, in its modern appearance.

Improving the efficiency of determining the location and scale of leakage using sorption cable sensor reflectometric method

The work is devoted to the study of the possibility of using a sorption cable sensor of various designs to determine the location and scale of leakage under conditions of extended objects by the reflectometric method. The use of the coaxial design of the sorption cable sensor allows one to obtain high-quality reflectograms with clearly distinguishable areas of cable wetting and to register the dynamics of changes in the leakage scale. Using the method of sensing from opposite sides of the sorption cable sensor can improve the accuracy of determining the size of the wet area of the cable.

Development of international technology transfer in the directions of the scientific school of professor Kondratenko V.S.

The article presents the main directions of research of the scientific school of Professor Kondratenko V.S. and examples of developing international technology transfer with Taiwanese companies Foxconn and Nanoplus Tech. The technologies of the company Nanoplus Tech are presented, as the subject of international counter-transfer Taiwan technology in Russia. The directions of cooperation in the field of scientific research and the development of world-class technologies, such as: the laser controlled thermocracking of glass and sapphire; chemical-mechanical grinding and polishing using a bonded diamond abrasive tool; the use of thermally conductive polymer composites in cooling systems of electronic devices; development of sorption cable sensors for water and hydrocarbons, effective technologies for protecting the environment from industrial waste, including the use of alkaline-ionized water.

Magnetic flow meters with diagnostic mode measurement

The designs of magnetic liquid metal flowmeters with a pulsed magnetic field of excitation are considered. The devices are designed to measure the flow rate of liquid sodium, lead, potassium, etc. Flow measurement modes are diagnosed by passing an external current through the channel wall.

Criterion of image quality of lens for night vision devices

The requirements for the lenses of night vision devices are considered. The criterion for evaluation of the image quality, for the image formed by the lens, is explained based on the consideration of lens action together with an electro-optical converter. It is shown that with the same relative decreases in the resolution limit of the lens + an electro-optical converter system, the requirements for modulation transfer function at the highest spatial frequency of the lens do not depend on the resolution limit of the electron-optical converters. These requirements are clearly determined by an allowable decrease in the resolution limit. The evaluation criterion for the lens of night vision devices that correspond to the excellent, good, and satisfactory grades is proposed. The utilization of the suggested criterion and rating evaluations based on it aims to improve the quality of practical developments of new optical systems of lenses for night vision devices.

Automatic control systems with priority service of channels

One of the possible options for constructing automatic control systems with the allocation of priority channels is considered. Expressions are obtained for estimating the additional error from multichannelism in an asynchronous-cyclic system It is shown that the system bandwidth is given to priority channels and, accordingly, the error from multi-channel is reduced.

Thermal conductivity measurement device of loose refractories by steady-state technique (on exfoliated vermiculite sample)

The results of study of effective thermal conductivity coefficient of exfoliated vermiculite at temperatures about 623 and 923 K depending on particle size distribution, heating above the enstatite crystallization temperature (1273 K) and cleavage planes particle orientation to heat flux are presented. To measure the thermal conductivity of this loose material, the experimental setup of solid refractories was upgraded.

Features of the photoelectric properties of silicon with nanoclusters of manganese atoms in the range of λ = 1,5...2,5 ?m

It has been shown that p-type silicon with nanoclusters of manganese atoms has a high impurity conductivity in the range of λ = 1,5...2,5 ?m. The optimum electrical parameters of the material are determined, in which an anomalously large photosensitivity is observed, comparable to its own, in the range of λ = 1,5...2,5 ?m. Even at sufficiently high temperatures (T = 300 K), the material has a sufficiently high photosensitivity in the range of λ = 1,1...1,7 ?m, allowing to create highly sensitive photodetectors based on it.
